Introductory

Hello, my name is Jiyah Thomas and my social justice issue will be on racism and how it’s important and as well on how we could possible work through these issues as a whole. I choose to write about racism because it’s an ongoing topic that goes unnoticed or undetected every day in the world. It has broke people and have effected their lives in ways that we may never know. Racism has been occurring for hundreds and hundreds of year. It’s described as discrimination against a person of a different race based on certain beliefs. Based on certain social groups it’s a much more deeper problem then just that.

Racism is a very important topic because we see news’s headlines all over the world about some sort of discrimination. We should continue to work through this issue as one because it comes in so many different forms, it can occur when just believing in certain characteristics. Racism will always be a topic that needs attention because it still effects many people’s lives. A prime example of racism would be stereotyping a black male just because they are black, this is a serious issue because a person shouldn’t be judged just by the color of there skin. Most of the time racism is a habit learned as a child by people’s parents and their parents, its something that has been passed down from generation to generation. We most work as a whole to break these generation cures, that effect so many people on a day to day basics. Racism has turned people against each other it has even started wars. People must let past beliefs go and start over as a whole.
